この建築は東京・渋谷の映画館シネマライズの入った映画館ビルです。フランスの「CASAVOGUE」、米国の「ARCHITECTURALRECORD」など多くの海外メディアに紹介されています。

「わたし達の記憶の中にある空間や出来事の都市は、この闇の中に消えやがて完全に失われてしまうだろう。この100年間に都市はその意志と商品というふたつの極に大きく引き裂かれ、空間・実体と決別し、厚みも奥行きもなく加速度や振動のタピストリーとなって少しずつ白い闇に包まれていった。しかし辛うじてかの都市は断片的でイデアルなイメージに昇華して、わたし達の意識の中にある。そして一冊の書物、一枠の窓、あるいはモニター画面の中に都市の鮮烈なイメージを発見することのほうが、はるかに現実的な段階にあるということは幸いかも知れない。失われた都市を再構築することは物語としては容易であるが、それもひどく空しいものである。それはおそらく都市の闇のもつ力に比べて、わたし達の想像力がはるかに貧弱であるからなのであろう。都市はわたし達の意識のおかれている位置よりもずっと先にあるのだ。わたし達がどんなに速く走っても追いつけないほどに都市は加速している。しかも都市は自らを表現する機構をも装備してしまった。ライズは建築であるよりも前に都市の断片であり、さまざまな内面の都市の集積であり、都市の影であり、かの白昼の闇にもし王がいるとすれば、彼の空しくも絶対的な権力によって彩られた夜の庭なのである。」

Cinema theater, “Cinema Rise” at Shibuya, Tokyo. It was featured by many international media such as French “CASA VOGUE” and American “ARCHITECTURAL RECORD”.

“The city with space and events in our memories will fade away and vanish in this darkness completely. In the course of last 100 years, it has split into two poles definitively, subjectivity and objectivity, and abandoned its space and entity. A tapestry of acceleration and oscillation of the urban life lost the width and the depth of the space. The city has fallen slowly into white darkness. However, the city took a chance of sublime into fragmental and ideal images to remain in our consciousness at last. Fortunately, we live at a time that vivid images of the city can be found within book, window or screen without effort. In a sense, we easily imagine to reconstruct a story of lost city, though just a sense of emptiness is to be left. Our imaginations are desperately poor. The city advances always far away from us. It accelerates so much that we can not catch up with it any more. Moreover, it has acquired means of expressing what it is. Rise is not so much architecture as fragment, an accumulation of various inner sides or shadow of the city. It would be a night garden decorated by the absolute but empty power of the King if he was in the air castle.”
